In the Field with Dr. Anany
In Haiti 1.3 million children (12% of the general population) are under 5 years old. The likelihood that these children will die before they reach their fifth birthday is amongst the highest in the Western Hemisphere. However, CNP/Kore Timoun is literally alone in saving malnourished children in the region of Leogane.
A Christmas Message from the Executive Director
This past year has been one of discovery and hope. I have watched in despair as the people of Haiti struggle through an historic era of inflation and unrest in their homeland. Yet, what I see - the moment I step off the plane - is a culture like no other. A culture full of love, loyalty, tradition, and dedication.
Raising Awareness About Affordable Local Foods
This autumn, the Children’s Nutrition Program of Haiti / Kore Timoun participated in a Nutrition Fair in Petit Goave, organized by the international relief agency, Samaritan’s Purse. The public event welcomed over 300 people of all ages, including children from several local schools.
CNP Partners with American Team for Mobile Health Clinics
The Children’s Nutrition Program of Haiti participated in five days of mobile clinics from October 22 - 26, 2018 in the West region of Haiti, including CNP’s service area in Leogane. Each mobile day clinic allowed over 100 patients of all age-groups to receive free, quality care within their own communities.
“It's Thanks to Kore Timoun that my Children are Alive”
A twenty-minute drive or a four-hour walk from the Kore Timoun headquarters in Leogane, Haiti, a family of six children live in a small wooden home with a red door. Kore Timoun monitrices have knocked on this door many times.
The Difference Between Life and Death - The Kore Timoun Truck
In the afternoon, I stretch my engine to 80 kilometers an hour on the way to the hospital. I carry Wilkenson, whose height and weight is a fraction of most children his age.
