Kore Timoun fellowships offer university graduates from around the world the opportunity to share their vision and their develop professional skills in partnership with our staff in the field.
Kore Timoun fellows Work for one year with the people of Leogane.
Our fellows gain meaningful work experience in the fields of global healthcare, nonprofit administration, communications, and education;
They work side-by-side with the CNP Country Director and our Kore Timoun staff. They help manage the administration of CNP’s education, health screenings, and health infrastructure projects in some of the most remote areas of Haiti.
Our Fellows Have Skills
Kore Timoun fellowships require a Bachelors degree in the field of global healthcare, international policy, global communications, pre-medicine, or other related fields. Fellows should also:
Be a Native English speaker or have fluency in English, as well as Haitian Kreyol or French;
Have a passion for global health and poverty issues, especially as they pertain to malnutrition;
Have excellent verbal and written communications skills;
Be organized, flexible, and adaptable to changing circumstances;
Be resilient, and have the ability to endure the difficulties that come with living in a developing country and dealing with cultural differences;
Be in good health and ready to meet the demands of the work.
Kore Timoun provides:
A rewarding professional experience, housing and meals, 20 vacation days a year and all Haitian holidays, a monthly stipend to cover the cost of living expenses in Haiti.

Monitoring and Evaluation Fellow
CONTRACT DURATION: 1 year, renewable

JOB SUMMARY
The Children’s Nutrition Program of Haiti’s M&E team is growing to support and strengthen the organization’s programming and to carry out research on CNP’s successes in the region. CNP is growing its data management systems and working to build capacity for academic partnerships and research. The M&E Fellow, based in Haiti, will support CNP’s M&E team to make strides in improving its data systems even further and using that data effectively. A major part of M&E is the evaluation of our programs, including child & maternal health, health education, nutrition, and WASH services –as well as measuring how community members have benefitted from CNP services.
This fellowship position offers field-based exposure to a variety of M&E responsibilities, from supporting data collection/evaluations and data management systems, to interpreting program data for use and assisting with reporting to donors as it relates to program outcomes. Further, the M&E Fellow will support team members in growing their skills in writing and telling stories. Helping to build the capacity of team members’ in Haiti in their ability to fully understand, talk about and share program results will directly benefit the overall M&E capability at the Children’s Nutrition Program of Haiti. The Fellow will also coordinate some external visitors to support their experience in a way that optimizes learning about CNP.
The M&E Fellow sits within the Monitoring & Evaluation team and reports to the Data Manager in Haiti. The Fellow will work with the Data Manager and Data Entry Clerk, but will interact with nearly all staff members of the organization.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. The ability to adapt to a changing work environment and meet challenges presented throughout the day
2. Participate in program evaluations and research at CNP
a. Help develop program evaluation tools and structures for new and existing programs, including building survey tools and data collection processes, and providing feedback to organization and program leadership on results to guide decision-making
b. Provide support to the M&E team on integration of evaluation results with other ongoing monitoring, data analysis, data visualization, etc., always ensuring that evaluations are integrated with existing data management systems at CNP
3. Assist in donor reporting and proposal development with a focus on external communication of CNP’s Key Performance Indicators, metrics, and evaluation/research results
a. Work with the U.S. team and program teams to write progress updates, both on specific indicators and on overall program progress.
b. Work with the Haiti and U.S. teams to write aspects of donor proposals related to program outcomes and indicators, and program ideas.
c. Support development and measurement of key performance indicators for external audiences.
d. Expand visualization tools and other strategies to actively understand KPIs and encourage programmatic use of M&E data.
4. Assist with hosting visitors to CNP, including Board members, donors, peer organizations and students at points throughout the year
5. Work with relevant Haitian staff on developing writing and story‐telling capabilities to assist in donor reporting, proposal development, and general communications
6. Other responsibilities as mutually agreed upon with supervisor

· Bachelor’s degree in public health, nutrition, international development or relations, computer sciences, grant writing or related field required
· Graduate degree (obtained or in progress) in public health, nutrition, international development or relations, computer sciences, grant writing or related field strongly preferred
· A background in research, data analysis, and/or support of M&E systems required
· Experience in community development programs desired, international experience is preferred
· Experience living in a developing country, preferably Haiti
· Successful experience working with people from different cultural backgrounds

JOB SUMMARY
Children’s Nutrition Program of Haiti/Kore Timoun aims to improve health and wellness of children under 5 through community-based prevention and management of malnutrition in Léogâne, Haïti. Our programs promote nutrition in both rural and urban communities through education, maternal child health, community empowerment, and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH).
The Nutrition Fellow works with a strong team both in Haiti and Chattanooga, TN, to help fulfill the vision, mission and activities of the Children’s Nutrition Program of Haiti (CNP)/Kore Timoun. S/he is primarily responsible, with support and supervision from the Executive Director, for ensuring that the objectives and responsibilities outlined below are accomplished and meet the highest professional and ethical standards.
The Nutrition Fellowship focuses on improving nutrition in children under five through our community programs. Working together with the Programs Manager and Monitrices (community nutrition agents), the Fellow will support growth monitoring and Community Based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) throughout the commune of Léogâne. Additionally, the Nutrition Fellow’s work will help build capacity and partnerships with local actors and resources to maximize our impact.
The Nutrition Fellow is based in Léogâne, Haiti, and reports to the Community Programs Director. Beyond the program, the Fellow reports to the Country Director. This position will require a minimum of 40 hours a week Monday through Friday with occasional weekends. Office hours for fellows are between 8:00am and 4:30pm, with flexible hours in the field.

e. In collaboration with the M&E fellow, collect and interpret data to improve CNP’s public health approach and programmatic performance
f. Evaluate current practices to identify good practices and highlight areas where improvements should be made
g. Take initiative to find ways to improve program efficiency and clinical outcomes
h. Help to develop a platform for future academic partnership
