Water Well Rehabilitating Project

CNP, in partnership with Living Water International (LWI), has initiated a Water Well Rehabilitation Project in the greater Leogane area. Data has been gathered on approximately 20 wells that stand in disrepair. An LWI survey team was in Leogane during July 2004 to begin initial diagnostic and repair efforts Three wells were brought back into service affecting some 1500 residents. In a country where 30% of deaths of children under five are caused by diarrhea, access to clean water saves lives. Click here for presentation. (For high speed Internet connections only)

In 2006, 6 wells were rehabilitated, bringing the project total to 21. Plans call for quarterly trips to continue repair work and to establish the necessary infrastructure and logistical framework for a sustainable pump repair and maintenance project. LWI is an non-denominational water ministry. It's volunteers serve the Lord by drilling and repairing wells in the rural developing world. CNP advisory director, Jack Vaugn, is a LWI volunteer.
